MEET ME AT THE WORKERS' CLUB

An interactive reconstruction of Alexander Rodchenko's Workers' Club, originally exhibited at the 1925 World Expo in Paris.

The virtual copy of the constructivist installation is accompanied by posters, photographs, and breezy texts tracing the historical context of workers' clubs in the Soviet Union, as well as personal musings about the role of the artist in a time of revolution.

Playthrough ~10 minutes.

Super cool

Not loading on Apple m1 pro MacOS 14.5,  getting:

The application “Club” can’t be opened.

Try right click > open or run it from the itchio app, apple does not want you to play games outside of their app store

(1 edit)

That's how I was doing it when I got the error unfortunately. I'm able to run other itch games with the right click method, but not this one..

this is a common issue on mac when it comes to unity games :( the way i got it to work was by clicking "Show Package Contents" on the app, navigating to "Contents > MacOS > Meet Me at The Worker's Club", then opening a terminal session and typing:

chmod +x {path_of_file_in_MacOS}

then all you have to do is right click > Open on the app.

Hmm, when right click > Open on the app, it tries to open it from the terminal, which then generates this error:

“Club” can’t be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software.

This software needs to be updated. Contact the developer for more information.

try going into your privacy and security settings scroll down and it should say open anyway after you try to open it.

This was extremely interesting to explore. Thanks for making it!

I'm running it on linux and It's just a back screen with a white bar in the center

the white bar is the way-too-minimalistic loading bar, give it a minute or try with another browser

That is very well made musem

Thought this was very inspiring to experience! I didn't know much about this stuff, and I leave inspired. Perhaps like a fairgoer would in 1925 XD

Loved this exhibition. I liked how it gets the player thinking about what the role of art and design is in politics, the economy, and culture., and what it could be.

Really cool experience!

Extremely appreciative that you put the time into recreating this exhibit. What a window into a different time. The moment of hopefulness for socialism and the future of humanity. Thank you.

And yes, fuck Stalinism.

¡¡¡Excelente!!!
